John Malcome
Mr. John Malcome, who was previously minister of Lower Killead, moved to Dunmurry c1699. He died in this charge on 17th May 1729. Mr. Malcome took a prominent part in opposing the Belfast Society, who were exploring new theological ideas. Its leading members included well known Non-Subscribers such as Abernethy and Halliday.
Malcolme accused the Belfast Society of shedding “new light” on Presbyterian Church Government and was not in favour of their insistence on Non-Subscription.
