We are taking part in the Cash for Clobber scheme again this year. The aim of Cash for Clobber is to raise awareness of textile recycling and encouraging us to reduce, reuse and recycle, while raising funds for our church.
If you have any unwanted textile items, if you can put them into a black bin bag and leave in The McCleery Hall from 24th – 30th March. These will be collected by Cookstown Textile Recyclers, who will sort and recycle items to divert them from ending up in landfill. Low grade material is used for industrial wipers and fillings, good quality clothes are re-used in the developing world. You can learn more about the work of Cookstown Textile Recyclers by clicking here.
